Iririki Residences and Apartments, Vanuatu

Construction is well advanced on Snorkeler's Cove All-suites at Iririki Residences and Apartments on Iririki Island, directly opposite downtown Port Vila. The 61 apartments are being sold to investors who have the option of leasing their properties back to the resort management for rental purposes.

Studio apartments on the lower three floors of the eight wings are A$330,000 to A$350,000, plus 12.5 percent value added tax (VAT), while the penthouses cost A$750,000. In addition, land on the island is being marketed to those interested in having their residence custom built.

Iririki Residences and Apartments is not to be confused with Iririki Island Resort, which originally opened in 1986. Before that, Iririki Island was the personal residence of the British commissioner. The Snorkeler's Cove complex will cater to families with small children, whereas Iririki Island Resort is strictly adults only.

Other new developments on Iririki Island include a leisure center with tennis courts, gym, and four swimming pools, a 120-seat restaurant, a day spa, and a 250-person conference center. A new commercial center with shops, cafes, and reception will be built on the main island at the Iririki Island ferry dock.
