Arts Village, Pacific Harbour

cultural presentationThe Pacific Cultural Center and Marketplace of Fiji at Pacific Harbour on the south side of Viti Levu, Fiji, has been rebranded as the Arts Village. Since taking over in September 2004, the new owners have injected new life into a complex originally constructed in the 1970s.

Cultural tours of the recreated Fijian village are again being offered after a lapse of several years. Firewalkers from nearby Beqa Island now walk on hot stones daily except Sunday (previously they'd only performed once a week). New stores and services are available at the Arts Village's shopping center. A 200-seat conference "bure" is under conconstruction, and a bunkhouse and apartment complex will open shortly.
