Pacific Air Route Changes

Air Tahiti NuiAir Tahiti Nui has confirmed that their service from New York to Paris will be discontinued at the end of October. This is largely a result on strict U.S. visa and security regulations which have discouraged French tourists from flying Paris-New York-Tahiti. The New York-Tahiti flights will continue. Air Pacific is considering a nonstop New York to Fiji service. New Yorkers, stay tuned.

Polynesian Airlines recently cancelled their Apia to Niue flights, but Air New Zealand has increased capacity on their Auckland to Niue route to 126 seats per flight. The weekly service currently operates on Friday nights. Air Pacific has increased the frequency of their flights between Nadi and Tarawa to twice a week, using a 118-passenger B737-700 aircraft.

On Tarawa you can connect to Air Nauru. Air Nauru had planned to begin flying from Tarawa to Majuro today, but the launch of the service has been delayed until September 17th to allow time for their new aircraft to be thoroughly prepared for the long overwater flights.
