MICRONESIA MAP

The map of Micronesia stretches across the Central Pacific from Palau to Kiritimati (Christmas Island). Until 1986, Palau, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands were all part of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands and under American administration. Kiribati is the former British colony of the Gilbert Islands, while Guam was captured by the United States in 1898. Nauru achieved independence from Australia in 1968.
